CyanogenMod 9 RC Brings Ice Cream Sandwich, Lots of Customization to Android
CyanogenMod, the most popular Android ROM around, has finally graduated version 9 to release candidate status, bringing Ice Cream Sandwich and other great features to a number of Android phones.
There may still be a bug or two in these versions, but you should find that they're more than suitable for your daily driver. Not only has CyanogenMod 9 updated the underlying OS to Ice Cream Sandwich, but it contains a lot of the customization features we've come to know and love from the ROM, like a configurable launcher, the ability to add information and apps to your lock screen, and even a Tasker-like automation feature built right in.
CyanogenMod 9 RC is a free download, and is currently available for these phones. Other devices can try out the nightly builds or search for unofficial builds for their phone. If you want to find out when CyanogenMod 9 is released for your device, you can follow their release RSS feed.
